The same hours apply to both the Red Line and the Green Line. Dubai Airports publishes the same schedule on its metro page and notes that hours may be extended on holidays. The Blue Line is not open yet.
Last metro tonight: why it is earlier than midnight
"Midnight" is when the last trains finish their journey, not when they leave. The last train from each end of the line departs much earlier: on a weekday the last train from Centrepoint leaves at 10:46 pm towards Expo 2020 and 10:50 pm towards Life Pharmacy, and the last train from Expo 2020 towards Centrepoint leaves at 10:44 pm. Stations in the middle of the line have later last trains.

- If you need to change lines at Union or BurJuman, RTA asks passengers to reach the connecting platform within 5 minutes.
- For Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy, check the destination on the train: the Red Line splits at National Paints.

How often do trains run?
Red Line runs three routes in peak hours: Centrepoint-Life Pharmacy, Centrepoint-Expo 2020, and (peak only, 7-9am and 4-7pm) Centrepoint-Al Fardan Exchange. Peak intervals: Centrepoint-Al Fardan Exchange every 2 min; Al Fardan Exchange-National Paints every 4 min; National Paints-Expo 2020 and National Paints-Life Pharmacy every 8 min. Third route added 12% Red Line capacity.
RTA added the third Red Line route (Centrepoint to Al Fardan Exchange) in September 2025 to ease crowding in the busiest section along Sheikh Zayed Road. Off-peak and Green Line frequencies for 2026 have not been published as exact figures; trains are less frequent outside rush hours and on the branches.
Holiday and special timings
RTA announces special hours for each holiday a few days before. The pattern in recent holidays has been to keep the normal opening time and extend closing to 1:00 am.

Frequently asked questions
What time does the Dubai Metro open today?
At 5:00 am from Monday to Saturday and at 8:00 am on Sunday. The live box at the top of this page shows today's hours in Dubai time.
What time is the last metro today?
It depends on your station and direction. Monday to Thursday and Saturday, the last trains leave between about 10:45 pm (from Centrepoint, Life Pharmacy and Expo 2020) and just after midnight, and the last services finish around 12:05 am. On Friday night everything runs about one hour later. Use the last-train finder on this page for your station.
Is the Dubai Metro closed on Friday?
No. On Friday the Metro runs from 5:00 am until 1:00 am (after midnight), the longest day of the week.
Does the Dubai Metro run 24 hours?
No. The Metro does not run overnight. Outside service hours, use an RTA bus where available or a taxi.
Why does the Metro start at 8 am on Sunday?
Sunday is the only day with a later start. It has kept the 8:00 am opening even during holidays such as Eid Al Adha 2026, when closing time was extended to 1:00 am.
Do the Red and Green lines have the same timings?
Yes. Both lines open and close at the same times every day.
How often do trains run?
In peak hours on the Red Line, trains run every 2 minutes between Centrepoint and Al Fardan Exchange, every 4 minutes between Al Fardan Exchange and National Paints, and every 8 minutes on each branch beyond National Paints (to Expo 2020 and to Life Pharmacy), according to RTA figures reported in September 2025.
Are Metro timings different during Ramadan?
In Ramadan 2026 the hours stayed the same as the regular schedule. During Eid holidays RTA usually extends closing time to 1:00 am and announces it a few days in advance.
